ABSTRACT
Considerando o aumento no número de estudos aplicados realizados no exterior e a ausência de publicações brasileiras em Análise do Comportamento que relacionam eventos antecedentes a problemas comportamentais infantis, este artigo objetiva descrever: (1) os processos antecedentes em termos conceituais segundo B. F. Skinner e J. Michael e (2) a função que os eventos antecedentes podem adquirir na análise dos problemas de comportamento. Três pesquisas aplicadas que têm como foco de investigação a relação entre as varáveis antecedentes atenção parental e dificuldade da tarefa e o comportamento de desobediência são apresentadas. Os resultados destas pesquisas demonstram a manipulação de eventos antecedentes como uma alternativa eficaz que pode contribuir para a diminuição do uso de consequências aversivas no controle da desobediência infantil.
Considering the increase of applied research held in other countries and the absence of Brazilian publications in Behavior Analysis relating antecedent events and childhood behavioral problems, this article aims to describe: (1) the antecedent processes in conceptual terms, according to B. F. Skinner and J. Michael and (2) the role that antecedent events can have in the analysis of behavioral problems. Three applied researches that have their focus of investigation on the relationship between the antecedent variables parental attention and difficulty of the task and the behavior of noncompliance are presented. The results of these researches demonstrate the manipulation of antecedents events as an efficient alternative that can contribute to reduce the use of aversive consequences in the control of noncompliance in childhood.
